"Listen, Soda, you and Ponyboy," Darry said as we strode down the street, "if the fuzz show, you two beat it out of there. The rest of us can only get jailed. You two can get sent to a boys' home." (S.E. Hinton 17). In the story ¨The Outsiders¨, by S.E. Hinton, Darry Curtis is a very important character. Darry Curtis is responsible, serious, and hardworking. Ironically, Darry is actually very responsible, and not just in one way, in many. Darry is responsible because once his parents died he didn’t just give up and let his brothers, Ponyboy and Sodapop, get taken. For this reason, Darry dropped out of school and works so that he’s able to keep his brothers, he’s responsible and also makes sure his brothers don’t get into any trouble because
