In his last days Boxer does not complain that he has turned 12 and might not get to retire even though he is looking forward to it. Boxer decided to work and fight until his time was up and he was sent to the butcher. Boxer was so trusting that he willingly went with the Butcher and followed Napolean’s wishes to the very end. It is hard to imagine that Boxer is gone, but it may have been better than living with 3 bullets in his back legs and a broken hoof. He was the biggest creature and hardest working animal on the farm, which was pretty easy considering that the pigs were turning into humans and not being pigs anymore. The correlation of how the pigs become more humanlike and turn to greedy creatures and their lust for money proves to be a commentary on us as humans. It is obvious that Boxer should have received more help in the end, even though he was the one who did almost all of the windmill by himself 3 times. However, Boxer was tossed aside in the end by the pigs after he devoted his whole life to them in the same way that Christ was sacrificed in the end by the people that he served his whole
