Sanders debates and reasons his point of views, but focuses on compromising and looking for solutions to deliver positive results. One can strongly argue that Bernie’s personality is very achievement oriented. During his life Bernie had to overcome many obstacles to become a Senator, such as poverty and coming from an immigrant background. He did not let any of these circumstances define his character, instead he learned to appreciate these limitations. With passion and persistence he has accomplished many important milestones in his life, including becoming mayor of Burlington after many unsuccessful attempts. Another strong personality characteristic of Bernie Sanders is nurturance. He has helped thru legislation, comfort and protect those in need. With compassion and empathy he has tried to help the working class, a class that he understands deeply because of his modest upbringing. To conclude, Henry Murray stressed the importance of understanding personality is rooted in the brain. Our behavior is governed by what our brain thinks, beliefs, fears and values.
