Sierra, I agree with the negative impact Babas lies had on Amir; however, i do not think that Baba knew that keeping that secret would have that effect on Amir and Hassan. Baba spent the beginning of Amir's life pretty much ignoring him. Baba only gave Amir attention when he did something spectacular. Baba did not do tell his lies to hurt anyone. He is a human being, and Baba was scared of telling the truth like anyone else would. Showing this brought a positive aspect to their relationship, because now Amir could see that his father made mistakes too. Amir could relate to Baba over their shared experience in lying. Baba lying about Hassan Being his son. Amir lying about not witnessing Hassan's rape. Amir never blamed Baba for his guilt, but
