In the book Don't Look Behind You when the main character April Corrigan had to start a new life with a new identity, and had to rid of a defining feature that could easily be used to define her. This feature to April's dismay was her lucious, goldilocks like hair which she loved immensely. A pair of small fingernail scissors were used to turn her perfect hair into a poorly done, mangled, short cut atrocity. These scissors are a symbol of the change being forced upon the Corrigan family by the Federal Witness Protection Agency after George Corrigan, April's father regrettably gets knee deep in a dangerous drug trial.
