The commercial spacecraft the Nostromo is on a trip returning to earth after going on a mission to find minerals within its ships you have seven passengers who are in a deep sleep. You have Captain Dallas, his second in command Executive Officer Kane, Warrant Officer Ripley, crew members Ash Science Officer, Navigator Lambert, and Engineers Parker and Brett. They have all been working together for some time in deep space forming relationships and co habituating habits. In Alien we how our main character our protagonist the person we as views must relate and love Ripley. Ripley’s world has officially changed her position as a woman and a person with assigned power, power that was questioned and how she dealt with it. Ash was the one who opened the hatch which obviously already made a huge rift in their relationship not to mention that she then mentions how she doesn’t trust Ash. But the conversation she later on shares with Ash even furthers how much they truly don’t get alone or how they don’t respect one another. “Ripley: [Ash is observing the facehugger] That 's amazing. What is it? Ash: Uh, yes, it is. Um. I don 't know yet. Did you want something? Ripley: Yes, I, uh... have a little talk. How 's, uh, how 's Kane? Ash: He 's holding, no changes. Ripley: And, uh, our guest? Ash: Um. Ripley: Hm? Ash: Well, as I said, I 'm still... collating, actually, but uh, I have confirmed that he 's got an outer layer of protein polysaccharides. Has a funny habit of shedding his cells and replacing them with polarized silicon, which gives him a prolonged resistance to adverse environmental conditions. Is that enough? Ripley: That 's plenty. When Ash revealed himself to be a robot on a mission to bring the alien life form back to the company they all work for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation whose purpose was to find the alien. Ripley eventually finds out which then proceeds to Ash trying to kill her. She is saved by Parker and Lambert who eventually get Ash off Ripley and is killed. Ripley wakes Ash up to try to see if she could get information out of him which lets us know that regardless of what the situation is she is still thinking rationally,“Ripley: Ash, can you hear me? [slams her hands down on the table] Ripley: Ash? Ash: [awakens and starts speaking in an electronic and distorted voice] Yes, I can hear you. Ripley: What was your special order? Ash: You read it. I thought it was clear. Ripley: What was it? Ash: Bring back life form. Priority One. All other priorities rescinded. Parker: The damn company. What about our lives, you son of a bitch? Ash: I repeat, all other priorities are rescinded. Ripley: How do we kill it, Ash? There 's gotta be a way of killing it. How? How do we do it? Ash: You can 't. Parker: That 's bullshit. Ash: You still don 't understand what you 're dealing with, do you? Perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. Lambert: You admire it. Ash: I admire its purity.
