Such conflict can be found within the character Karn. Karn is a pacifist. He must restrain himself from taking any action as countless hordes throw themselves at him.The second internal conflict in the story Orim’s beef with Gerrard after he orders the army to kill everyone in their way, including Orim’s lover Cho. She is furious at Gerrard and must be held back. She doesn’t know if she wants to kill him or follow his orders, since Gerrard is still the captain.
The story is also written in 3rd person omniscient POV. The reader can tell this because the author talks about all of the characters thoughts and memories. If the story were to be written in 1st person for example, it would have been completely different. Most likely it would have been written from Gerrard or Sisay’s point of view because they are they main characters. If it were to have been written this way the reader would have been unaware of many of the events in the book because they happen extremely far apart from one-another.
