Character Analysis: Freak The Mighty

Freak is an amazing character in the novel Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. He is passionate and a very good friend in this essay You learn a few traits out if many for Freak. I hope you will know more about him and what a great creative character he is.Freak also known as Kevin being imaginative, adventurous, and intelligent he is able to give his best friend Max a new perspective on life through his friendship. First trait is Intelligence an example of that is when Freak names all the periodical elements inside of the fireworks at the firework show; on page (33) he says “Good old strontium nitrate.” The author shows not everyone is as smart as Freak.Not everyone can name all the chemical compounds in fireworks let alone know it by …show more content…
On page (49)Freak says,” That's the castle of Avarice.” The quote symbolizes that Freak pretends they are back in time he is a night and Max is his steed and they go on a adventure pretending that as they go along. A second example is when Max and Freak go into the middle of the night to get Loretta Lees purse in the sewer that got put there by Blade and his gang. On page (55) Freak says, “A treasure hunt.Except we don't really have to hunt because I already know where the treasure is.”The repetition of this quote is telling us Freak is referring the purse as the treasure like back in time. Last trait is imaginative an example of that is when Freak is explaining Bionics to Max when he brings him to the bionic unit. On page (52), Freak says “‘The bionics unit is a building a whole new body just my size.’” At this point in the novel Freak knows he is going to die so he imagines himself as a human robot for his and Max’s state.Another example of imaginative thinking is on page (8)Freak tell Max “‘Identify yourself earthling.’” in this example Freak is imagining himself as robot also scaring the daylights out of Max and creating a friendship as
