“I want to be smart” This is a quote from the story “Flower for Algernon” by Daniel Keyes. Charlie Gordon does have the best of intelligences. Charlie really want to be smart. Charlie has an operation done to make him smart. Some people could say this was a bad idea but I think it was good for Charlie to experience.

A great example is Charlie say “I have learned a lot for this experience.” I know when he had the operation he was learning more about life. He learn why his friends were always laughing at him. He also learn that he liked to be himself. “I’m in love with Miss Kinnian.” (Keyes,71) He would never know if he didn’t have the operation. The main thing he learned is the be who you are not what you think you
