The characters adapt to their surroundings in different ways. Brian is stranded in the cold in the middle of the no-where all by himself besides all the animals around him.Some animals including the bear can be extremely dangerous if not handled the right way.¨Brian pulled back a foot. “Hey--get out of there!” he yelled and kicked the bear in the rear.¨___¨Everything in nature means something and he had missed the warnings that the summer was ending, had in many ways already ended,and what was coming would be the most dangerous thing he had faced since the plane crash.¨In the book Brian knows that the bear could have done much more damage that it did.Several times in this passage it tells the reader that Brian is totally unprepared which makes him extremely vulnerable in his situation. …show more content…
