If I had a choice to spend an evening with a character from a book I have read, it would be Allyssa Velasco, from ‘Allie, First at Last’. I have so many reasons to choose Allie to spend an evening with. After reading the book, I realized that Allie and I had a lot in common. While reading, I shared a lot of similar feelings with Allie.
Allie is the only one in her Mexican-American family who hasn’t own an award, trophy, or ribbon for her family award shelf. Her little sister Ava is a model and appears on TV commercials, her big sister Adriana is a national debating champion, her big brother Aiden is a champion soccer player, her great-grandfather is a Medal of Honor winner, and her mom is a News Anchor.
