People often have a certain perspective on another individual based on a certain persona or act one puts on to have a reputation. In "A Streetcar Named Desire" two characters Blanch and Stanley both feel that they have a very specific image to up hold in order to be respected by the other characters in the book. people often have excperinces that shape there future weather it be for the better or worse it could even cause someone to creat an alterante image of themselves just to appeare like nothing is wrong.One person that Blanche puts an act or acts differently around is her sister Stella. Stella and Blanche have grown up together so they have obviously spent lots of time with each other; however, because of this, Stella also knows how much Blanche lies to try and up hold her image. Blanche had done this on how she reacted when she first came to vist her sister Stella "Now, then, let me look at you. But don 't you look at me, Stella, no, no, no, not till later, not till I 've bathed and rested! And turn that over-light off!" This shows that from the moment Blanche saw her sister she was hiding her appearance from Stella. This is just one of the things Blanch does to try to keep her appearance around Stella. Blanche wants her sister to think of her as a respectable member of community and someone who has grown up and changed her past. Blanche does this by never allowing her sister to see her in full light. Another thing she does is lie to her about situations or…
