The Ordinary World represents Andalusia Spain, where his journey began. At this moment, he is a roaming shepherd of many terrains and his home is all of the lands that his comes across during his wandering. He’s raised and educated by his family in Spain. We notice that sheep hold a special place in his heart. The character establishes that he has a great desire to travel. This desire drives him to become a shepherd. Santiago was very familiar with the atmosphere. Most likely because this was where he had grown up and had spent most of his life. He was comfortable with the fields and the people of the area.
2. Call to Adventure
Santiago’s call to adventure was his recurrent dream. If he had never had the dream, he wouldn’t have been compelled to seek out a dream reader, which lead him to sit on a certain seat in Tariff. If the boy had never met the King of Salem, he wouldn’t have known any other land other than his own. His dreams were basically the start of his long adventure.

The omens taught Santiago the Language of the Universe and the many branches that are twined together to create this language.
