Chapter Summary: The Murder Of Mako

The next day, when Mako was on his new raft, another shark knocked him in the water---the son of Tupa---another killer shark. Mako kicked the shark’s eye, then it swam away. However, Mako was hit by the back fin and it broke his leg. Mako was gone for a while so his 20-year-old brother went looking for him. He saw him lying on the shore---so he carried him back to the house. His leg was we injured---he was probably going to be in a cast---for about 15 months. Mako’s brother wanted to avenge Mako---by slaying the shark. Mako’s brother’s name was Hunter.
Hunter said, “I have lost a family member already, I’m not going down that road again.”
Then as fast as Hunter could he get some of Mako’s spears and took Mako’s canoe, too.He went to the reef
