They were too stubborn to listen and because of it, Piggy died. Ralph is the one that tries to civilize the boys and in this effort he eventually becomes the hunted member of the group. Jack in his quest for power turns the boys against Ralph and tries to have him murdered. Ralph’s life is only spared by the coming of a navy ship, which saw the island on fire.…
The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding and the famous T.V. series Lost both have people deserted island after a plane crash. In spite of the leaders’ efforts to save others, three characters die. In LOTF Simon and Piggy are killed by others on the island, so is Mars in Lost. The question is were they murdered? Later, they kill their first pig, changing the hunting group's mental state from a civilized perspective to a savage perspective. Then, the group begins to split; those who were once following Ralph turn to Jack out of fear because of his hostile nature. Soon, they began to kill off those who didn't agree with them. First, Simon was mistaken by for the beast and killed by the rest of the group. Later Piggy was killed, when Roger pushed a boulder off the mountainside.…
Those who followed Ralph learned how to live off the land and use light as their way of survival. Jack had no hope of rescue, unlike Ralph, and did not like the chance of Ralph having any influence on Jack’s followers in believing that there was a chance of rescue. The boys ended up attacking Ralph and his two followers, Piggy and Simon. Ralph hid in the woods as the others took a murderous turn towards Piggy and Simon. Jack, however, did not feel like that was enough.…
Instead of planning and being organized they were a group of savages that thought before they reacted. Once the boys left to join Jack’s group, Ralph and Piggy were all alone after Simon disappeared. Ralph is discouraged and worried which is a new side that we see of him. He asks Piggy, “Piggy. what are we going to do?”…

The boys want to explore the island, play games, and hunt for meat. They start to look for meat on the island to eat. Eventually they catch a pig and are very excited to finally eat meat. They make a game out of the hunt where one of the little boys pretends to be the pig and the other boys are the hunters. The boys reenact the scene where they cornered, captured, and killed the pig.…
After Jack’s group got back from hunting successfully killing their first pig, Jack and Ralph get into an argument about the bonfire after the argument died down, Piggy complains to Ralph about the hunter's childish behaviour. Furious Jack slaps Piggy hard breaking one of the lenses of his glasses. Jack then makes fun of Piggy by mimicking him. Ralph and Jack begin to have a heated conversation, and Jack never looked at Ralph the way he used to anymore. Shortly after that Jack gave in to his savage personality.…
The three find out that they are indeed on a deserted island, and Ralph calls a new meeting to report back to the group, in addition to making island rules. Soon after the meeting, the boys each go their separate ways. Jack concerns himself with hunting and providing food, while Ralph longs to make shelters for safety and fire for rescue. These differences lead to growing tension between the two. In addition, Piggy, who serves as the boys’ emotional punching bag, quickly befriends Ralph.…

In the Lord of the Flies proper British boys get shot down in a plane and crash on a mysterious Island. The island is a symbol of Eden. When the young boys realize that there aren’t any grownups on the island, they cheer, but future anarchy and a struggle of power shift throughout the novel expressing a need for an authoritarian figure.…
The theme of wanting to gratify one's instant desires is found in The Lord of the Flies. The theme is not just a fictional situation, so we cannot ignore the issue. People are constantly breaking rules in order to benefit their lives, which can hurt others. In the very beginning of The Lord of the Files, Ralph and the other children realize that there aren’t any adults on the island. The lack of authority causes the kids to be extremely happy because they realize that the rules will not be enforced.…
