It was mayhem on this horrific day that Charles and his good friend Ethridge went through. It all started when Charles wanted to join World War Two just like his passionate father who served and died in World War One fighting for his country.This story is about Charles Beth Jr. and how he had got through the bloody battle of World War Two. Charles and his best friend Ethridge was on back of the green army truck heading toward a North France village to try to take it over with about fifty others. Charles General which is General George S. Patton plans was to drive five miles out of the village then walk on foot to kill the German's who seized the village. Ethridge told Charles, " this is supposed to be a big battle; there is over 600 Nazis in that old village." Charles just nodded and then General Patton stopped the truck and said," it's our time to shine boys." …show more content…
Suddenly a American soldier to Charles left tripped and fell down the hill. One of the guards out side the village right in front of the group screamed, "amerikanisch (which is american in German)!" General Patton said , "let's go boys!" After he said that Charles knew it was time for war. BOOM! The sounds of bombs and mp40s were screaming at Charles. He was scared but he thought quickly that what would his dad do? Charles told Ethridge ,"pass me a grenade." Charles quickly tossed it down toward the village. After the bomb blew up Charles started firing his .30 caliber M1 carbine and all he remembers is Nazis
