When beginning the subject ECDC131 – Language and Literacy for Teachers, and skimming though the prescribed text ‘ Communications Toolkit by Jane Grellier and Veronica Georke’, it started to feel like a breath of fresh air. It can be described as a beginning guide for an ‘academic bible’. In each section of the book it outlines the important skills that is able to assist in academic writing including essays, reflections and reports, research skills and resources, face-to-face communication supports and correct referencing aids.
