Chapter 11: Project Closure

Project Closure – you have made it through the project and now it is time to wrap it up and move on to the next project. That mindset is why the Closure phase is generally “rushed” through. The criticality of this process comes from the opportunity to learn and help future projects. The steps involved in the Closure phase are shown below.

Note that the Closure Phase can take place between phases. This is usually associated with projects that are high risk. The Closure Phase will also take place if a project is cancelled before the anticipated end of the project.
