His consistent negative attitude made him dislike the idea of being humane. Cole is uncaring, dishonest, rude, and undisciplined. In the book there are many times when Cole blamed others for his mistakes. For example, blaming Gavery for sending to the island. Because of Cole’s abrupt behavior, he had done many unintelligent things, such has always picking a fight the Spirt Bear on the island.…

1) I liked how she starts her story with the emotional moment of the accident, that part made me feel dizzy and disorientated like her, at the beginning it was kind of hard to interpreted the text and what was happening at the time. The parts were the police were treating her like an animal really made me mad and I felt a little bit of impotence when hearing about how they waited so long to help her and they hurt her even more. I was actually disgusted but not surprised of the way the police treated her in the hospital, it was to be expected, besides she “killed” one of their own and on top of it she was a woman of color. I admire Assata greatly in this chapter, she is so brave and has a strong will of power, if I were in her place I would have cried and begged since the first punch to the stomach. I can connect the way they treated Assata during…
Journal # 1 Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad is a book I read for my University English class. People always say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I am that one guy that does. When I first looked at the book to be completely honest, I thought it had something to do with witches or something really unrealistic. I know I have a wild imagination. The first couple of pages of the book got me hooked instantly, I loved how the book just starts and how the narrator gets right into his adventure as a young man into the Congo River.…

I had slept with it and woken up with it, and when it finally came time, I was having trouble convincing myself to take it off. Why did I have to torture myself with a reminder of Hikaru? I wasn’t sure.…
