This module concept in chapter 11, was overall about the significance of being conscious of how we communicate to others. We not only communicate to others orally, but also with our actions and our overall energy and attitude. Also, we must be confident in oursleves and who we are and not be caught up in what others may think of us. For example, show others respect and with dignity. The section integrity and trust was about remaining true to what we believe and say what we mean and mean what we say. This can bring peace amongst ourselves and influence our lifestyle in a postive way. According to John T. Cacioppo, loneliness is “one’s own perceived social isolation. Therefore it is the action of a person removing themselves socially. However, the chapter also suggests that a person can also have the feeling of loneliness in a social setting because they are disconnected with the people in the environment and they don’t feel that they belong. Depending on the person and situation loneliness have a postive or negative effect on one’s life. For example, a postive effect of loneliness can be person utilizing their alone time to plan out things in their life, get things done, and not feel any pressure to put on a show for people. A negative effect of lonelinees can be depression or despair from not being able to connect with others. As for physical effects of loneliness, the chapter states that people that are lonely people produce more cortisol, a stress hormone, higher blood pressure, have poorer nutrition, and are often more hostile. Responisbility for relationships is about the right way to express one’s feelings in a situation. It;s all about promoting healthy relationships by being genuine and honest. Relating to a higher power is mainly about one’s relationship with God. It is the foundation to every relationship we have on earth.
