In chapter one, Understanding Your Assignment, focuses more explicitly on interpreting sentences into your own words. “Try restating the assignment in your own words to make sure you understand it” (Pg. 10). You cannot possibly expect to improve your writing skills without simply understanding what it is that you are presented with to write about.
