A meaningless journey transform to a learning opportunity to gain and search the meaning of happiness. Competing between unhappiness and happiness, Hector realize avoiding unhappiness isn’t the road to happiness. Hector learned nostalgia is not what it used to be, the feeling of being completely alive, and the reason people believe happiness means being richer or more important. Hector’s last trip leads to Los Angeles where the photo in his sock draw took place. Hector is meeting with Agnes (a past lover) at the same exact spot shown on the photo. After, Agnes meets with Hector and introduce him to her kids they head to her house. Hector called Clara to update her on his location, but the conversation went left. Sweet Potato Stew on the plane, she invents him to her village to taste her famous sweet potato stew. One day, Hector finally visit her, and he’s experiencing the time of his life. Laughing and dancing with her family and friend shows how enjoyable the moment is. The party end and Hector leaves with open arms and people saying “I miss you” and “when are you coming back?” Hector’s riding in the back of a taxi, but he falls asleep. While Hector sleeping his life away, two bad guy are robbing his taxi. Hector wakes up terrify and noticed his drivers are unfamiliar. The bad guys decide to hold Hector capture. As the days go by, Hector proved his innocence, and the leader let him free blindfold. Free as Hector can be, he’s running, laughing, and stretching out his arm like he's a plane. Base on Hectors facial expression, he's free and alive. Hector ends up at Ms. Sweet Potato Stew village yelling “I’m alive!” Everyone cheering and celebrating his return back by dancing, playing music, eating, and enjoying the peace. “Happiness is knowing how to celebrate.” Michael as a clinic in Africa, and Hector’s helping him with. Michael explains the purpose of his clinic and what it offers to the African people. Hector sees a lot of usual things happening, but he also realize how important the African people stay alive.     In Chapter 1, “Every Trip Is a Quest (Except When It’s Not),” of How to Read Literature Like a Professor, author Thomas C. Foster claims that a quest can be defined structurally using 5 elements: (1) a quester, (2) a place to go, (3) a stated reason to go there, (4) challenges and trials en route, and (5) a real reason to go there (Paragraph 1.8).
