The character and my uncle share almost the same character traits like jealous, in love with his wife, bitter and narrow minded. He “look” things but not “see” what lie beneath it, and this what he said for Roberts wife “I found myself thinking what a pitiful life this woman must have led.”In the story as narrator says “Her office to be.” So he’s extremely jealous of his wife’s ex-husband, and he doesn’t want the blind man to visit too. He never made blindness his weakness at all. He was and still is a center of attention in a good way whenever he’s with someone. And his experience about life make a person see the world in a different way. Robert didn’t allow his blindness to damage his quality of life. He’s an easygoing, caring person who sets the narrator at ease. He’s open minded and willing to learn anything, he said “I’m always learning something, learning never ends”.
