Change Your Identity To In Christ

Your identity is what determines your behavior.

Not the other way around where it might appear that your behavior determines your identity.

The only way your behavior can determine who you are is if you fall for the deception of the devil.

This is where he wants you to believe that you're unworthy of Christ.

And in his attempts to get you to believe this he'll keep reminding you of mistakes and past hurts that cause you to look and feel horrible, and are against the word of God.

he'll try to convince you that you cannot change as a result of your understanding of life and your wrong behavior that has gone on for too long, or by saying you're too elder and stuck in your ways.

In “What We Believe Ourselves to Be”, Derek Parfit describes a dilemma of identity cause by using a tele transporter to travel. In this story a man uses steps into a tele-transporter to go from earth to Mars (Parfit). It removes his molecules in sequential order, and the teletransporter makes an exact copy of the molecules on Mars using matter from Mar as opposed to earth. Even though the person has the same memories and an identical physical state to his body on earth, other than in matter, the question arises on whether or not he is the same person (Parfit). The question is further complicated when a new tele-transportation device replicates the matter and makes the copy on Mars, but it ends up having adverse side effects that will kill…

I have a family member who approaches it more like a sword-yielding gladiator, and this has led to struggles. Realizing these differences has vastly improved our relationship. Most believers are serving and following Jesus, all for the wrong reasons, many only want Him for power, material blessings and being noticed in packed worldwide ministries or crusades on TV, online and other ways of media. The Wesley Understand of Human Salvation What is salvation? The salvation which is here spoken of is not what is frequently understood by the word, the going to heaven, eternal happiness. …… It is not a blessing which lies on the other side of death….it is a present thing….[it] might be extended to the entire work of God , from the first dawning of grace in the soul till it is consummated in glory (Maddox 143). Albert C. Outler noted that this sermon has the most extensive history of oral preaching behind it of any of the written sermons; therefore, he recommended it as the best single essay by which to judge Wesley’s soteriology (Maddox 323). Wesley denied here that human salvation is only a future hope; Wesley was also denying that it is…

One’s identity is what defines who and what a person is along with their purpose for existence. When lost, this can lead to confusion and can create the feeling one is of no great importance. Both authors using film techniques and literary devices, explore this through their young protagonists Deborah Blau a schizophrenic and Susanna Kaysen a borderline personality disorder suffer…

In modern society we are told to not judge others for their appearance but rather for their personal characteristics. While this idea is far from being accomplished, inner qualities are definitely appreciated more in today’s society, implying that the concept of assessing others solely by their exterior display has been diminished. At the beginning of the two stories, there is an obvious contrast in personality between Nora and Orlando.…
