Yes of course some question that age but it was found after years of searching and studying. Through radiometric dating we’re able to calculate the age of radioactive elements such as Uranium. But that’s not the only way they calculated the age of the Earth. They used carbon dating which uses carbon to calculate the age of plants and animals, including ancient organisms. Once dead these organisms over time decay and some fossilize after millions of years. But then again you could have believed all of it and be one-hundred percent convinced that what was stated in this essay is true. The evidence given in the first three full paragraphs only servse to prove a claim, the claim that as people our thoughts and opinions can change. Well the full claim is the following: “Over time we’ve changed our minds about how the Earth came to be”. Generic isn’t it? The truth is the claim had to relate back to the subject and assignment. The teacher that assigned this essay prompt assumed that the fourth paragraph would be an online sourced piece of evidence further supporting the claim made. Unfortunately that would have been bland, so instead this is the fourth paragraph (“shocker”). Yes, this is an essay about a documentary but aren’t most documentaries opinionated? Of course they can provide facts and valid theories but they all tend to be a bit opinionated. So here’s an opinion that you may or may not like or agree with, but here it is nonetheless. Life is about changing your mind from time to time, sometimes even more than just from time to time. If we didn’t change our minds or opinions from time to time then we wouldn’t get very far. We would be separated into groups according to what we believe in, yes we kind of are anyways but that’s an unforeseen argument for another school
