Change In The Film Listen To Your Heart

Introduction: Change is something that has existed since the beginning of the world, and still with all the good things that come out of it, we continue to fear and resist it. In the movie Listen to Your Heart there are two main characters, Ariana, a deaf girl with a overcontrolling mother, and Danny, a hard working man that falls in love with Ariana. The story of these two people show a lot of dramatic change, some that is good, and some that is bad. In the deaf community there have been many changes that have been for the better, most of these changes have allowed for the community to gain more respect. Change is good for the most part, and we all know that it is the only thing constant in this world, however much it is disliked it is still a fact.

Point: “Change, we don’t like it, we fear it, but we can’t stop it from coming. We either adapt to change, or we get left behind. And it hurts to grow, anybody who tells you it doesn't is lying. But here’s the truth: the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes, change is GOOD. Sometimes Change is everything.” -Listen to Your Heart. However as with the movie Listen to Your Heart, the change in Arianas attitude and tolerance of her mother was for the better. At first Ariana was afraid of her mother, she allowed her to rule her life, during the end of the movie though Ariana started to see that her mother was not as good as she thought. When she finally stood up to her mom and got her out of her life we all were fearful of how she would react. This relates to many decisions that people have had to make, especially in deaf community when someone had to decide if they wanted to be associated with the “lesser
