Throughout the course of the novel, the lives of everyone on the farm changed dramatically. The idea of a perfect society of Animals sank down due to any alteration on the key principle of the Farm “Animalism” when a new regime took over it. There was unequal act towards animals and a more comfortable lifestyle for the pigs who ruled the Animal Farm after Mr.Jones's regime.
One of the biggest obstacles against a developing perfect society in the farm was due to the principle of Napoleon “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”Like the past system of power division in human history, the animals in the barn also have the principle of“the powerful”,“his court”,“their soldiers” then come the common, the other “slaved” animals. …show more content…
The reward for their work was more inhumane than what a pig would receive after its “time to retire”.
Boxer played a major role in the rebuilding of the windmill, he was shown as the farm’s most dedicated and loyal laborer.Boxer was a devoted supporter of Napoleon. Even after knowing his loyalty towards Napoleon, he treated Boxer in an unjustified manner. All that mattered for Napoleon was that his slave would work for him until their last breath and when they were of no use, like in this case, Napoleon sent weak Boxer to the glue-boiler. This action of Napoleon portrays the different way of respect shown to the pigs versus other animals on the farm.
In the beginning of the story, the farm was run by Mr.Jone and his men under whom the animals suffered every day. They felt that they had too much labor on them to keep the farm running the humans did not care a lot about these animals. Soon enough all the animals in the farm “united” to fight against this power over them to establish an equal form of living on the farm. Their unity in this fight lead them to success but in the current situation, under Napoleon’s rule, the animals are afraid of unity and fight. Each animal had a different opinion in the result of their protest and are frightened to raise their voice. In a perfect society, all the citizens, in this case, the animals, join together to fight for their cause.
