Scientists have been studying the theory of climate change for decades and centuries. The theory of climate change was first put into question by scientists in the late nineteenth century. However, it was not until the mid twentieth century that scientists and researchers started looking deeper into the prevailing issue of climate change and what it encompasses. The following essay will include and describe the issue of climate change, how climate change affects biotic and abiotic factors of the earth, for example, the health of human beings and the health of the environment, and finally, what factors contribute and are contributing to the issue of climate change.

The issue climate change entails that the global and/or regional climate patterns are changing. One of the most compelling arguments that scientists and theorists have are the studies that conclude that the levels of carbon dioxide are increasing, which essentially come from fossil fuels, industrialization, and other sources, all of which have increased the amount of carbon dioxide emissions in the past centuries. In much simpler words, the use of fossil fuels has increase rapidly ever since the industrial revolution where greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide begun trapping heat in the atmosphere. According to NASA and the studies that they have on the climate and global weather, the month of March 2016 is one of the hottest months on record, however, not only that, the last six months in a row have had record setting heat which averages about 1.25 degrees Celcius warmer than usual. (Silberg, 2016) Also, from more scientific studies done by NASA and their counterparts, it has been observed that harvests from the late 17th century to early 21st century it has been seen that harvests begun shifting dramatically earlier than usual. For example, a study was done with grape vineyards in France and Switzerland and a direct correlation between climate change (which was seen with the warmer and drier springs that occured) and the time wine grapes are harvested in certain areas. It is also noted that the quality of the food went down because it was grown quicker than normal and with less time to develop.
