This paper explains and also explores what CHAMPVA is. It will give you an insight on why it was established as well as the benefits of having CHAMPVA. I have conducted my research for CHAMPVA online using the internet and offline using my insurance handbook. One can contact their local regional office. There are several ways to apply, via phone by calling-1-800-733-8387 or by mail at ATTN Pre Authorization, P.O. Box 45023, Denver, CO 80206-9023 and Online www.va.gov/purchasedcare. Department of VA determines who may be eligible. Once approve you can go to the nearest VA center and obtain you ID card.
Once you receive you CHAMPVA, the beneficiary has freedom of choice of providers. If a hospital accepts Medicare then by law they have to accept CHAMPVA.
There are certain supplies and services not cover by CHAMPVA like some other plans. Such as services and supplies that one may have receive due to a grant or study. Services that were obtain by a physician who may have been suspended or sanction by the feds. Services that you receive for free and then you were billed won’t be covered such as maybe you went to a blood drive and receive a physical. Also care that was meant to be free such as experiments. Services outside the scope of a physician’s
