Tekeisha: Why did you decide to become a teacher?
Mrs. Andrews: I chose to teach because it makes me happy to help people think and learn. I love building relationships. I enjoyed getting to know my students and learning their talents. I also enjoyed watching them blossom and celebrating their success. I believe that once a child is matched with a good teacher that is caring, the will succeed.

Andrews informed me that private schools are not required to provide students with special education services. She said that the public school district is supposed to set aside a fund to provide special education services to public schools, but may be limited. A parent of a student needs special education services may ask the public school district to evaluate the child for Special Education services and if they agree, the evaluation will be provided at no cost. The schools must then work together to create a service plan. Mrs. Andrew’s only objective to the service plan is that it may provide fewer services than what a child would receive at a public school. She did not agree with this decision and felt that it should be changed. She felt that every school should accompany students with special needs without having to go through a long process of getting it
