The type of community can either encourage or discourage a child’s education. A child living in a community that is safe and supportive of school will have far more opportunities and advantages when compared to a student who fears for their safety when going to or being at school since their community has other priorities above education. Having the support of families and the community for learning, students tend to earn higher grades, attend regularly, stay in school longer, and achieve higher educational goals (Parent 1). Funding and community support can greatly impact another major factor that controls the equality in education, which would be the resources a school district receives.
