Many journeys can show how we humans go against challenges in our path to figure out who we are in the world to prosper. In Iraq an American soldier, Cumming, who is trying to communicate with an interpreter, Izzy, to help one of his daughters from an Iraq car detonated near his home making the Iraq a menace to Izzy and his family. Trying to figure out which daughter is hurt from the one born in New York or the other in Iraq. Cumming, trying to communicate to Izzy, asked “ ‘Is your daughter from the United States with you right now?... Is she hurt?... Which daughter is hurt?... Is she on the street with yo?... You can’t what?... What?’ ”(Finkel 116.59-62). With no responses from Izzy, it makes Cumming worry about him and his daughter because of the ruled about aiding someone that can only get hurt by an American soldier or it is a U.S. citizen. Later on, he got a message from Izzy saying that they are trying to find a taxi, but might find out that he needs to walk to save time Izzy with his injured daughter. Seeing Izzy at a distance with filthy clothes with his daughter in his hands, with doctors coming up to the Iraqi daughter to bolster and Izzy saying thank you to Cumming. Meaning that she left her parents behind because they inhibit her back from her dreams to go to a world to start her life. Where she first light up her power to succeed in her journey in life to become what she wants and not what her parents telling her not to.
