I have had a good life so far. Like everyone though, I have had my ups and downs, but I would not change a thing because it has made me the person I am today. My parents raised me alongside my twin sister. This was a learning experience in and of itself, as you cannot have a twin without learning the concept of sharing. Many of the challenges I faced were small things that seemed more important at the time. However, most of the challenges in my life deal with issues I have had to deal with within my family. As I have said, the relationships with most of my family is either strained or non-existent. There are quite a few negative people in my family, and some are downright cruel. Another challenge in my life that also deals with my family involves our health. I have experienced multiple deaths in the family in only the last few years. Along with the deaths, there have been a lot of medical problems arising in my family. The biggest concerns would be my mother’s brain disease, multiple cases of cancer, and diabetes. I would say that the most rewarding aspect of social work would be knowing that I made a difference in someone’s life and that I helped them to better themselves or others. I feel this is the most rewarding because by helping people I am accomplishing something. I am helping make the world just a little bit better one person at a time. There will always be someone in need of help. This brings me to the most difficult part of social work. With so many people needing help, there is no way that I will be able to help everyone. There will always be people who have to be turned away or turned into the authorities because we as social workers will not be able to help them.
