Even if the employee being hired has a background knowledge in electronic he or she still might not know all of the necessary information to inform successfully all of the clients. This is because technology is always changing and in this department, training is required frequently. To meet this challenge, businesses are involving employees in training programs to build necessary skills within an environment that encourages learning on the job (Khumala, 2001). Peer training each other could also be beneficial to both the company and the employees. For the company they can save money in training and for the employee they can establish bonds and better relationships with each other. Each department will benefit from monthly meetings to talk about if there is new information that they should know or learn from their departments. Wal-Mart can give a hand to the community by providing with supplies to shelters. Organizing food drives where the employees are the one giving out the food. Is key that the employees are involved in giving back to the community as well. The question is how can we bring all of the employees together to be part of it. Of course at first, not everyone is going to be willing to be part of it but however in the long run after they see the rewards they might be motivated to be part of it since individual’s desire to participate in an activity is moderated by both personality characteristics and self-perceptions of ability. Manipulations of self-efficacy perceptions could, in fact, influence willingness to volunteer (Credo, 2016). Those companies who encourage their employees to be part of the community are helping those employees to improve their customer service skills since they are practicing by interacting with others.
