Challenges For My Instructional Plan In The Classroom
There are some that struggle, not because they are not smart but because they learn in different ways as some. This year there is no children with handicaps, just one that has a hard time focusing for long periods of time. This creates the challenges of changing my way of teaching so that it meets the needs of all students. This could mean making a lesson hands on rather than just modeling. Also, I must make sure my Spanish speaking children get the help they need so they can understand the content, whether that be through a translator or help from myself. Finally, my last challenge is connecting with all of my students. Since I am in a highly-populated area, I have a large class, as opposed to living in a low populated area. In order to teach students as well as possible, I must connect with students and understand how each student learns best, whether that be kinesthetic, visually, or auditory. I need to keep in mind, the multiple intelligences as well. Many of my challenges are easily fixable, I just need to take the extra time and make sure all my students are learning and understanding. Behavioral theory is how we respond to the environment, social cognitive is how we act based on our social settings, informational processing deals with how we acquire, store and recall information, and constructivist learning is how we learn by making sense of the world. Behavioral and social cognitive deals more with things directly related to us and the other two theories deal with things around us or what we are born with. To asses my students progress I will monitor each part and keep a record. I will assess them at the beginning of the year and then at the end to see how they have changed. Some may become excellent problem solvers while others learn to self-regulated. Altogether, my second-grade class will need topics and information that relates to them so they can gain skills that will help them throughout the rest of their
