Instructional Plan Essay

The grade level I have chosen to use for my instructional plan is second grade. This second-grade public school classroom is in a highly-populated area. My classroom consists of 25 children, 19 girls and 6 boys. My students have different backgrounds as well. Many speak English as their first language, but there are few that do not and have Spanish as their first language. Since it is a public-school I teach a class of diverse students. They do not all have the same background, believe the same thing, like in a private school, and many have different families with different values and morals. Their social status is diverse as well. Some come from families of great wealth and others have just enough to meet their needs, but do not have the money to spend on things like boats or new cars. One being modeling self- regulated learning skills each day in the classroom. Another strategy would be to use technology to reinforce what is being taught. A third strategy would be to create a plan for each student how they will reach a goal. This is where differentiated learning will come into play. I should get to know all my students and work with them to formulate a goal. This strategy will help them learn how to goal set in the future. Goals may be different for students and need help accomplishing them. Another strategy to bring social cognitive theory into my classroom and to accomplish my goal is allow students to think of all they have accomplished. This way they know how good it feels and will always work to accomplish a goal. The final strategy is to teach self-questioning and have students work on it with others and individually. This will help them to determine how to solve a problem. These strategies will help my students become self-regulated learners which will benefit them in their
