Brad found courage on many occasions. When he turned 13, he wanted to have a big celebratory Bar Mitzvah. It would have been easier to have a small gathering and just get the occasion over with. However, Brads friends and family supported him and helped to make his special day memorable. He manged to shine though this day and his speech in Hebrew and English went well. I found that Brad grew exponentially after his Bar Mitzvah (p. 46-52). I think it gave him extra courage to speak in front of others because he had the support of family and friends.

I found a number of areas in the book where I was furious at the situation and how it was handled. One such occasion was when Brad and his college friends from his dorm went to Steak & Shake (p. 92-96). This is where Brad was having his tics and after being humiliated, he was eventually thrown out of the restaurant because of a disability. It was good to see that paper wrote a story about the incident and I hope the people who read it were educated to help the next person who is faced with a similar
