Challenges In Foster Care Essay

This research paper contains information regarding the challenges and issues within foster care. This research will be presented in qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, meta-analysis and literature review. Foster care is when a child has been removed, through no fault of his or her own, from their home and family due to concerns for their safety. The child may have been abandoned, abused or neglected and is in need of a temporary home placement. Whenever possible, they live with relatives or non-relatives familiar with the child. When that is not possible, the child is placed with a foster family in a licensed Foster Home.
Throughout this paper, it explains the difficulties children experience in foster care. Some difficulties and challenges include articles about children aging out in foster care, behavior issues of children and social issues of children in foster care. The data base that was used to execute this paper was Warner University’s social work data base which provided scholarly articles and journals about the challenges and issues of foster care. Getting to the root of frustration with foster care is not an easy task. There are a lot of complications and a lot of things to keep in mind when dealing with foster care children. From this article, it explains how the foster care needs support from everyone in order to be successful. It also explains how children’s needs are unheard; this part actually stuck out to me because I believe that this is so true. Children who are in foster care have been through a lot in their lives and most of their frustration comes from them feeling like they have no voice and nobody hears them. These kids have a lot going on and too much to deal with, along with growing up and becoming
