The Chalk Pyramids formed 80 million years ago. The monument used to be part of the Vast Inland Sea. The seaway in the water turned into ooze, which later formed the Chalk Pyramids. Wildlife around the Pyramids-
The small holes in the monument created nest for falcons and pigeons around the area would fly from ledge to ledge. Other wildlife around the monument are white-tail and mule deer’s, hawks, antelope (Pronghorns), jackrabbits, coyotes, and raccoons. So be careful if you were to visit the Chalk Pyramids. Pronghorns would naturally camouflage or blend in with the Chalk.
