Due to the highly competitive nature of the school examinations being held in Sri Lanka, students obtain additional assistance from tutors who visit homes and are also compelled to attend group/mass classes to improve their performance at these major pre – qualifying examinations to enter the state universities / private degree awarding institutes affiliated to foreign universities and vocational training centers.

Since the company uses technologically advanced machinery and high quality raw-materials for their products the company was awarded with ISO 9001:2000 certification for its stationery items manufacture under the "Atlas" trade name and few other names as well.
"Varsity Pencil" was the maiden product of the Atlas Company and at present it manufactures over 300 stationery products including exercise books and is proud to be one of the main stationery brands available island wide. International markets such as South Asia, UK and the US were one of Atlas Company’s key area and those countries formed strategic partnerships with Atlas pencil company UK. International partnership like this will enable a company like Atlas to move onto more advanced technologies, improve more on quality wise spread the market to further countries with reasonable prices.
