This biography “Mother Jones: Fierce Fighter for Worker Rights” by Judith Josephson is about Mother Jones bringing child labor to the attention of the public by marching 125 miles down to the white house in D.C. to talk to the president about the situation. Although she made a difference in the world’s problems, Cesar Chavez who was a migrant farmworker fought against the hardships and injustices of farm worker life. One reason that I believe Cesar had made a bigger impact on the world is because he revolutionized the way that we stand up for unjust problems. In the text they begin to talk about how Cesar made people go on strike, do boycotts, go on marches, and do fasts, Cesar had taught people people different methods to fight against different problems that they are faced with and to this day we still use these methods. A second reason that I think he made a bigger impact on the world is because he found a way to create a contract that would keep slaves safe. They say how Cesar made the first bargaining agreements between farm workers and planters in the American history, which still protects the way that we treat people who do the work for us today and let them be in a safe, comfortable environment. And lastly he made a union of people to fight for the cause that he thought wasn’t just and should be changed. They talk about how under Cesar’s control the UFW achieved unprecedented gains for the farm workers, this union was also the first successful farm worker union in American history. This shows that Cesar was a influential person which would make him a great leader and someone that can control a union of many people to fight for something that is unjust and needed to be
