He founded the National Farm Workers Association
His union joined the Agricultural workers Organizing Committee in the strike against grape growers

Who dedicated his life to help raise wages
And working conditions for farm workers

A year later the unions merged
Was renamed the United Farm Workers
Chavez called for a national boycott
Of California
Table grape growers
The battle lasted years
But Chavez won many
