The main skill is “Critical Thinking” (Carron Casillas, Rn, NS, Personal Interview, March,24,2016), (Amber Web, NS, March,23,2016). As the position of a nurse, majority of the time you make the critical decision. Do you send them to the hospital? Should I call the family?. The second key skill is that “You have to be caring”. Every day you are taking care of sick people, sometimes it may be a bad day for you or the resident, but you have to understand the resident is sick. Then I asked is someone told you one thing before you entered this field what would it be? “I wish I knew how much paper work there would be”. I asked what are some opportunities with this career in which two stated “You work with people, and sometimes get to see them improve”.
