Certified diabetic educators are required to have a bachelor’s degree for education. In addition, certified diabetic educators are required to have two to four years of related experience as training. The training allows certified diabetic educators to be in the know of some of the complex tasks that exist within the function of their job in many aspects. Finally, certified diabetic educators mainly have the job to educate their patients about the lifestyle changes involved for the diagnosis of a diabetic throughout the different stages of their life, such as nutrition, medication, physical activity, and glucose testing.
