Speech/ Language- Children communicate before even they are born. Baby in the mother womb respond to distress or loud noises by moving. Once the babies are born, he or she communicates by crying. They begin cooing by the second month and babbling between 6 and 9 months. It usually takes 3 or 4 months to reach a vocabulary of 10-30 words after the first word is spoken. The speed of language achievement is incredible. At about 18-22 months of age, the child’s vocabulary may increase from 50 to more than 300 words. A child who is surrounded by speech and language all the time usually learns language skills faster. Reading and talking to the child will have a big effect on how well your child is able to communicate later. But children who are not reading or talking usually learn …show more content…
It gives the brain an opportunity to participate more fully subsequent developments. The second sequence is Proximodistal, means that development proceeds from the trunk or central axis of the body outward. The brain and spine make up the central nervous system along the central axis of the body and are functional before the infant can control the arms and legs. The third sequence is Differentiation. As children developed, physical reactions become less global and more specific. This infant engages on diffuse motor activity. Infant will be grasping for objects and holding onto them within a few months. Infants need to learn to move and to use their bodies to a process better known as motor development. Infants may life their chins while lying flat on their stomachs at about 1 month. Within another month, infants may raise their chests from the same position. By the fourth month, infants will turn from stomach to side. Infants may roll over by the fifth month and they may be able to crawl by the eight month.
