The new employee, Rajah, will be schedule to arrive at CenturyLink 7:45am. I will greet her in the lobby so we can start off by discussing the location of employee parking. Next I will lead to the class room area for new hire orientation. Next she will to fill tax form, direct deposit, and emergency contact. After they finish filling it out, then we will watch the company video that explains CenturyLink mission statement and the company’s overall objective. Thirty Minutes later when the video is over, I will pass out the company handbook and other literature that pertains to the company. I will then briefly explain each section and point out important items such holidays, benefits, and company procedures. I will give Rajah a packet that will include such item as her ID card, clock in number, and a phone directory. Once …show more content…
I will show important areas such as emergency exit, the break room, and different departments of the within the building. After the tour, it is time for us go to our department. Rajah will then follow me as I go to various station performing my managerial duties so she can get a fill for the work environment. The goal is to show her the functions of each station and introduce her to every single person in our department. The shadowing will continue until noon for a one hour lunch break.
After Lunch we will begin our on the job training. She will be paired up with our lead receptionist Linda. Linda has been with company for more than seven years and have received several raises because of her loyalty and hard work. She is not only a receptionist but also a member of human resource. She in charge of the file management system for the whole department. Linda will go over standard phone scripts and how to operate the phone. Once Rajah is comfortable, she will answer five calls on her own. I will be visiting the two periodically to ensure that she learning how to perform her
