Most will do anything to get it. To gain power, people will do things such as becoming a cop or a censor. This greed for power was another reason as to why censorship came into existence. People who were once a victim to being told what they could be exposed to were now becoming censors to control what people could see in movies, read in books, or listen to in music just to satisfy their hunger for power.

The world is full of secrets, many of which people in a position of authority do not want you to know. Surprisingly, it’s not only people that have some sort of official authority who keep these secrets. Even locals find ways to keep people from knowing what they don’t what others to know. This is what you’d call unofficial censorship. Usually, the government as well as organized groups censor material. This is official censorship. Individuals may censor as well. However, this censorship would be labeled as unofficial. It doesn’t really matter if censorship is official or not because at the end of the day, censorship is censorship. The film industry was probably most affected by censorship. The film that featured actual motion wasn’t created until 1889 by Thomas Edison. After this film was created, authorities knew motion picture film were becoming the new trend and that they would have to be censored. Ten years later, the New York Board of Motion Picture
