Censorship Today Censorship today is something most people don't have any clue about, including myself. Censorship is a very serious topic. “It's the suspension of speech, public communication, or other information which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, politically incorrect or inconvenient as determined by governments, media, authorities, or other groups or institutes.” In my own words, i believe it's a stopping or preventing of creativity . There is many different types of censorship. There is self-censorship, which is a person's own works or speech. Censorship can be direct or indirect, in this case it's called soft censorship. It occurs mostly in different types of media. Many countries have a high protection level of censorship. Censorship today raises the issues of our freedom of speech, which is protected by the first amendment. If someone gets offended by something, they should handle it other ways. The first amendment says that we have freedom of speech, but somethings aren't appropriate for the nation. Some Things are. It's just a matter of what's right and what's wrong. …show more content…
