Censorship Should Be Censored

Do you ever feel like your rights are being taken away because of censorship? People think now in life that they have to sugar coat and protect everyone from reality by censoring what they hear, see, and how they dress. There are some things for little kids that need to be censored for them but it should be up to the parents. Society now thinks that just because someone participate then that means they get a prize. People get participation awards, get wimpier, our arts are restricted, and think at school just because of censorship. Our society is too craven because of censorship. People should be able to do, think, dress, and say what they want, however they want ,within reason, as long as they are not hurting anyone physically or mentally. …show more content…
People never actually think for ourselves. Our media has such a big influence on our society. On social media people are told what not to say all because of our feelings and thoughts. As a society people have to protect everyone and everything. Everyone has to be protected because of their feelings. Our society cannot say one thing without offending another person. The radio censors a lot of the music that is played. The song “Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato was originally written “Payback’s a bad B**** and baby I’m the baddest and your F******* with a savage…” (Lovato). They changed it to “Payback’s a bad chick and baby I’m the baddest and your playing with a savage. The stations do this so they don’t offend their listeners. They also do this because of the government. What is the point in having the First Amendment when people cannot live up to it? Right before some movies air on TV it has to be changed and it comes with a warning saying that it has been altered to fit the screen and for certain scenes. The government also censors what is also aired on just regular TV channels. Even though there are somethings that young children shouldn’t experience until they are older, but that doesn’t mean that they have to be so sheltered it is the parents job to do this not the
