Art has a very broad meaning and can mean something entirely different for everyone, people use to express what they feel or share their views or likes and dislikes. Censorship takes that away from the artists, and censoring art is something that takes away people's first amendment right. There are certain art pieces that people may find offensive when it comes to the persons personal beliefs or morals. Art does have its way of provoking people with certain emotions whether they are good or not. As stated in Freedom of Expression in the Arts and entertainment “ Today’s calls for censorship are not motivated solely by morality and taste, but also by the widespread belief that exposure to images of violence causes people to act in destructive”

Any form of art whether it is music, video games, words, images, ideas, and fashion are the main ways people use freedom of speech. In Freedom of the Arts and Entertainment the author states “a free society is based on the principle that each and every individual has the right to decide what art or entertainment he or she wants -- or does not want -- to receive or create”. If people don't like certain artworks they should just ignore the work and go to something else. People should have the ability to create what he or she wants without being criticized for it. But just as much as people have the right to express what they want through art others have the ability to protest their own beliefs but in doing so it's questioning and limiting the censorship of others. As stated in Freedom in Arts & Entertainment “ Once you allow the government to censor someone else, you cede to it the power to censor you, or something you like. Censorship is like a poison gas: a powerful weapon that can harm you when the wind shifts.” If we censor others it opens a path and allows others to censor us and in doing so it limits everyone from certain restrictions and takes away their freedom of speech.
