Censorship has helped reporters from saying things that might otherwise scare or make citizens panic. There are many uses for censorship, some other examples are: Gives warnings when dangerous stunts are performed on-screen, it helps protect the privacy of people, it protects plagiarism, it prevents racism, and it promotes political correctness; to name a few. Therefore, censorship is helpful for protecting the children from letting their minds become corrupt because of harmful thoughts and ideas from the web and/or the television shows.
One example of how censorship has helped reporters from scaring citizens is during a terrorist attack, it helped in controlling panic and rumors throughout the nation. This was observed in India in 2008 when terrorists attacked The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. (Pillai, Prabhakar). Another example is during the Civil War, where the press was very experienced with their work. They had a huge influence with the people, their opinion and what they thought about the War. The press has in fact, helped far more times then they are credited for, as they didn’t release a lot of things that happened in 2016 that may have scared the citizens of U.S.A more than what they already were. …show more content…
This helps kids or other people watching be aware that they ARE dangerous stunts and that they should not be performed for fun. Some examples that I have seen where this is shown is on the HIGHLY overrated show called Impractical Jokers.
